"Lady Jane"

1998-2010

Our beloved Golden Retriever, Lady, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge early Saturday, July 3rd, 2010.  We enjoyed 12 wonderful years together, she was the best "demo" dog and accompanied me on all of my speaking engagements.  She helped many a new puppy or rescue foster find it's way in the "human world", but most of all, she was my best friend.  We will miss you and love you always, until we meet again at the Bridge.

Good leadership/management means planning ahead to set your puppy up for success, making it impossible to for him to fail, catch him doing good things right and reward him for his success.

Welcome to the DogStar Training  website.

It is my hope that you will find useful and helpful information about the dogs you share your home with, great links and recommended reading lists and announcements about dog-related activities and classes.

Training is based on gentle, positive, kind and, of course, fun methods for you and your dog.  Harsh and sometimes violent corrections to behavior problems and training only teach our dog that we can hurt them.  Compassionate training strengthens the human-dog bond and the results help create happy dogs and happy owners.

The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs.
